How we write Field Answers

Field Answers are answers written by the Octopods team to questions we see again and again. This page explains where they come from and how we keep them honest and current.

Where the questions come from

From our own support conversations with Octopods customers, from sales and onboarding calls, and from questions asked here and in other communities. We never use the content of messages that pass through Octopods integrations; those belong to our customers and their customers.

How we protect privacy

We describe the general problem, never a specific customer. Names, companies, numbers and unusual details that could identify someone are removed or generalised before publishing. When a question is close to one customer’s situation, we ask them first.

How we write them

We use AI tools to help find recurring questions and to draft. A named person on our team then checks every claim, tests the steps where possible, adds what we’ve learned from real setups, and publishes the answer under their own name. That person is responsible for it.

What every Field Answer includes

  • The author and the date it was last verified
  • A short, direct answer first
  • What Intercom or HubSpot supports natively, and its limits
  • When a different setup is needed, including options other than Octopods
  • Links to the official documentation we checked

How we keep them current

We re-check every Field Answer at least every six months, and sooner when Intercom, HubSpot or Meta change something relevant. We only change “Last verified” after actually re-checking. When an answer changes, we add a dated note at the top saying what changed.

Found a mistake?

Reply on the Field Answer. A “this didn’t work for me” reply is the most useful feedback we get, and we’ll fix the answer.
